50th Anniversary Concert

The band performed their 50th Anniversary concert on 22nd October 2022 at Holy Trinity Church in Broadstairs. The band was led by David White along with guest conductors Harry Cook and Ray Pickering both ex conductors\ players in the band. Music was performed from all genres, from traditional Greensleeves to rock from the likes of Eric Clapton. The church was a new concert venue for the band and the concert was well received by the audience who were encouraged to join in with clapping and singing in the final piece ‘Rock and pop legends : Neil Diamond’. The band will be returning to this venue for their Christmas concert later in the year.

New Conductor

The band is pleased to announce that David White has accepted the role of Musical Director. David has conducted the band since our return after the pandemic due to our previous MD (Paul Shand) not being able to return due to ill health. Paul has been appointed the role as band President and will still have an active role with the band as and when his health allows. The band looks forward to it’s next chapter in the bands history with David at the front and also wish Paul all the best and hope to see him at rehearsals soon.

Back to rehearsals

After 16 months of no rehearsals due to the pandemic the band returned to rehearsals this Thursday. We had a good turn out and the promise of more players returning next week. Considering the break the band sounded good and by the end it felt like we had never been away. Check back soon to see a list of concert dates.
